The NHL announced on Thursday that Canadian rocker Bryan Adams will perform as the headline act for the Ottawa Senators and Montréal Canadians game in Ottawa at the open-air TD Place Arena on Dec. 16.
The upcoming game and performance is part of the NHL’s Centennial Celebration, commemorating 100 years of the league’s first games which were played on Dec. 19, 1917.
“Bryan Adams was a fitting choice to open our year long NHL Centennial Celebration in Toronto earlier this year,” said Steve Mayer, the NHL’s Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer in a statement. “As we bring the NHL Centennial Celebration to a close, we are excited to have Bryan join us again in Ottawa for an exciting finale to an historic year.”
It doesn’t appear that the rock singer has any plans of slowing down soon. Along with heavily touring over the past year and into 2018, Adams is also writing songs for the upcoming musical adaptation of Pretty Woman, and released a compilation album on Nov. 3 titled Ultimate which features two new songs “Ultimate Love" and "Please Stay.”
The Ottawa Senators versus Montréal Canadians game will be broadcast live on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. EST.
