TIME on Tuesday published its fifth annual list of the 25 most influential people on the internet – and four music acts made the cut.
Returning for the third year is BTS (RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jung Kook, Jimin, Jin and V) thanks to their fans, “who avidly consume and promote their content online.”
Lil Nas X, whose “Old Town Road” has spent 15 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, tops the list for successfully turning viral fame into “bona-fide stardom.”
New to the list are Ariana Grande and Cardi B.
“Cardi’s approach to being online has remained mostly the same – these days, she sandwiches confessional videos and memes between red carpet shots, concert footage and political missives,” TIME explained.
Last year’s list of the most influential people on the internet included Rihanna and Kanye West.
