To no one’s surprise, BTS has set a new record for the most views of a music video in its first 24 hours on YouTube.
“Dynamite” racked up 101.1 million views following its Aug. 21 debut, shattering a record held by BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That,” which had 86.3 million views in its first 24 hours in June.
It becomes the first music video to top 100 million views in one day. As of Monday morning, the video had 178 million views.
The most recent BTS video to come close was last year’s “Boy with Luv” ft. Halsey, which garnered 74.6 views in its first day on YouTube.
“Dynamite” is the group’s first single sung entirely in English and will be part of a forthcoming album. It was written by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar.
BTS is scheduled to perform “Dynamite” on the MTV VMAs on Aug. 30.
