Busta Rhymes allegedly lost his cool Monday night when another passenger on his flight from New York City to London put her bags in his section of the overhead compartment.
“He was ranting and raving, getting really angry and demanding to know why she had used his locker,” an unnamed witness told The Daily Mail. “He began shouting and behaving extremely aggressively.”
When the woman’s husband tried to calm Rhymes down, he reportedly said: “Let’s go homeboy.”
British Airways confirmed there was an altercation on its flight but did not identity Rhymes. “Our cabin crew and captain reassured all the customers involved,” it said in a statement. “All those in the cabin were given the option of moving away, and the flight did not depart until everyone confirmed that they were happy to continue.”
The 47-year-old rap star, whose real name is Trevor Smith Jr., was escorted off the flight by police officers when it arrived at Heathrow Airport early Tuesday. “There were no reported injuries and no offences disclosed,” Metropolitan Police said, in a statement. “The passengers concerned then proceeded with their journeys.”
In 2008, Rhymes was refused entry into the UK due to convictions for assault and DUI in New York City.
