Camila Cabello has been crowned the first artist to top both the Billboard Pop Songs and Adult Pop Songs charts with the first two singles from a debut album.
Cabello’s “Never Be the Same” went up one spot to No. 1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart dated June 30 – more than a month after the song topped the Pop Songs chart. “Havana” was previously No. 1 on both charts.
Only Lorde has come close to achieving the same feat. In 2013, “Royals” was at the top of both charts and “Team” was No. 1 on the Pop Songs chart – but only made it to No. 2 on Adult Pop Songs.
The Pop Songs chart is based on total weekly airplay, according to Nielsen Music, on 160 mainstream Top 40 radio stations, while Adult Pop Songs measures airplay on 84 adult Top 40 stations.
