She’s kidding, right?
Canadian artist Grimes is raising eyebrows with an alleged “training regiment (sic)" she shared in an Instagram post late Monday.
The 31-year-old Vancouver-born performer claimed she spends 2-4 hours in a deprivation tank (“this allows me to ‘astro-glide’ to other dimensions - past, present, and future”), does 1-2 hours of sword fighting with trainer James Lew, and then spends up to 45 minutes “on an inclined hike at roughly 4-4.5 miles per hour.”
Grimes claimed she then heads to her studio, which is bathed in red light, and slow brews honey tea during a 20-25 minute “screaming session.”
But wait, there’s more. “I have also eliminated all blue light from my vision through an experimental surgery that removes the top film of my eyeball,” she claimed, “and replaces it with an orange ultra-flex polymer that my friend and I made in the lab this past winter as a means to cure seasonal depression.”
The last part of the regimen seems the most plausible. “I go to bed with a humidifier on,” she wrote.
Grimes’ tongue-in-cheek “training regiment (sic)” is to promote Monday’s announcement that she is the new face of Stella McCartney’s Adidas collection.
In a statement shared on Instagram, McCartney said: “Grimes is the perfect embodiment of the adidas by Stella McCartney core values. She is passionate and outspoken about protecting the planet, and a true trailblazer for pushing creative boundaries and inspiring women to unlock their potential in all aspects of their lives.”
