A press release described Miami Beach Pop as “a celebration of one of the most extraordinary cities in the world. This unmatched, vibrant culture and iconic beach provide a rare combination of natural beauty and city excitement.”
The demographics of visitors to South Beach on weekends and during holidays has changed dramatically in recent years, bringing crime – including numerous shootings – and an increased police presence. Some residents have pressed local politicians to stop permitting big music events.
