Canadian singer Paul Anka has been awarded full custody of his 11-year-old son Ethan.
The 75-year-old Ottawa native convinced a California court to prevent his ex-wife, Anna Åberg, from having any contact with their son.
Ethan had testified that he has an “intense dislike” of his mother, whom he hadn’t seen in two years.
Anka and Åberg were married in 2008 and divorced two years later.
Anka has five adult daughters with his first wife Anne de Zogheb – including Amanda, who is married to actor Jason Bateman.
Last October, the singer married Lisa Pemberton, who is four decades his junior.
Anka wrote Frank Sinatra’s signature hit “My Way” as well as classics like “Diana” and “Put Your Head On My Shoulder.”
Åberg’s lawyer had argued that there is no evidence that she is an unfit mother.
