Canadian pop singer Victoria Anthony is celebrating her 16th birthday with the release of “How Cute,” her second single of the year.
The track, which Anthony penned with Ryan Worsley, arrived with a video she directed with Brock Newman.
“My favourite part of filming the video was getting to smash things,” Anthony said, in a release. “I loved throwing the cake on the ground and making a hole in the wall with a bat. Even ripping the pillow with feathers flying everywhere was amazing. There is something so freeing about letting go like that.”
In “How Cute,” Anthony sings about a relationship gone bad.
The B.C. teen went viral in 2018 when she was invited by P!nk to belt out “Perfect” during a concert in Vancouver. Last October she released her debut album Real Life and, in December, she was spotlighted in the Recording Academy’s Press Play At Home series.
Anthony is scheduled to perform Sept. 10 at the New York Fashion Week Prestige show at Gotham Hall in New York City. In November she opens six U.S. shows on Devon Baldwin’s Runaway Tour.
