Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Drake, The Weeknd and Snow are representing Canada on the list of nominations for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
Bieber’s track with Ed Sheeran, “I Don’t Care,” is nominated for Top Radio Song and Top Collaboration and “10,000 Hours,” his song with Dan+Shay, is up for Top Country Song. Bieber’s Changes earned him a nom for Top R&B Album.
The 26-year-old pop star has collected 19 BMAs so far in his career.
Mendes is vying for Top Radio Songs Artist and his duet “Señorita” with Camila Cabello is up for Top Collaboration and Top Hot 100 Song.
Drake is nominated for Billboard 200 Artist and Top Rap Tour while his track with Chris Brown, "No Guidance" is up for Top R&B Song, Top Streaming Song and Top Collaboration. The Weeknd has three noms – Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Male Artist and Top R&B Song (“Heartless”).
Rapper Snow made the list of nominees thanks to being featured on Daddy Yankee’s “Con Calma,” which is up for Top Latin Song.
Overall, Post Malone leads the way with 16 nominations in 15 categories. Close behind are fellow rapper Lil Nas X with 13 and singers Billie Eilish and Khalid with 12 each.
Kelly Clarkson hosts the virtual 2020 Billboard Music Awards, which will be broadcast on Oct. 14 from Los Angeles. The awards are based on data for the year that ended March 14 and there are three fan-voted categories.
