Three of the Top 10 albums in the U.S. are from Toronto artists.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, Good Intentions by NAV is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart for the week that ended May 14. The chart, dated May 23, will be published on Tuesday.
Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes falls one spot to No. 3 and The Weeknd’s After Hours is at No. 9.
Good Intentions, released on May 8, is the third studio album from NAV and his second – after last year’s Bad Habits – to debut at the top of the Billboard 200. Bundling Good Intentions with merchandise helped the 30-year-old rapper sell 73,000 copies of the album in its first week of release. (The album was also available in a number of different formats.)
Drake was bumped from second place on the chart by Kehlani’s It Was Good Until It Wasn’t and The Weeknd’s sales fell nine percent from the previous week to drop three spots on the chart.
