Cardi B will be honoured as Woman of the Year at next month’s 15th annual Billboard Women in Music.
“Yes, I am Woman of the Year and for you crybabies that’s like ‘What? She only got one song’ – yeah I got that song, b**ch,” the “WAP” star said in a video she posted on Instagram. “You know, the one that sold the most, the one that streamed the most. The one that had Republicans crying on Fox News about it. The one that’s about to be six times platinum in three months.
“The one that had your grandma popping her p***y on TikTok. Yeah, b**ch, that one.”
Billboard said it recognizing Cardi at its Dec. 10 event – which will be virtual this year due to COVID-19 – for the success of “WAP” as well as the launch of her Reebok collection and her political activism.
In her video message, Cardi pointed out that she used her platform to encourage voting in the U.S. election and to endorse Democratic candidates. “Eat it up,” she said. “I’m just that b**ch.”
Canada’s Jessie Reyez will be honoured at the Billboard Women in Music event with the Impact Award.
Jennifer Lopez will receive the Icon Award, Dolly Parton will get the Hitmaker Award and Dua Lipa will be honoured with the Powerhouse Award. The Rising Star Award will be presented to Chloe x Halle.
