Cardi B and Post Malone will join Foo Fighters as headliners at the 15th edition of the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival in Montreal next summer, it was announced Monday morning.
Organizers are hoping COVID-19 vaccines will allow fans to gather at Jean Drapeau Park on the weekend of July 30 to Aug. 1, 2021.
“We will follow all COVID-19 guidelines (as they evolve) and continue to update the status should anything change,” read a release from promoter evenko, “but we need to plan for the future because there IS a light at the end of the tunnel.”
The Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform at this year's edition of Osheaga as well as Lizzo and Kendrick Lamar.
The festival was put on hold in April due to the pandemic. In early June, the decision was made to pull the plug on the festival for the first time in its history.
“This is an unusual situation that is unfortunately beyond our control,” said evenko's Nick Farkas at the time, “but as passionate music fans ourselves, we take great pride in curating the festival with the aim of bringing the best local, Canadian and international talent to the most beautiful festival site in the world, and we'll have some fantastic artists lined up for 2021.”
Osheaga fans who buy passes before Jan. 15 can take advantage of a new payment plan with no interest or service fees.
