Carly Pearce has every reason to make a big thing about “Every Little Thing.”
The song is No. 1 this week on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making it the highest-charting solo female debut since 2015 – and making Pearce one of only four women to debut with a song on top of the chart in the 15 years.
“I’ve worked and prayed for this moment,” Pearce said, in a release. “To anyone who has embraced ‘Every Little Thing,’ you’ve changed my life so much more than I could have imagined. I am so grateful for my first-ever No. 1 and the sometimes-rough journey to this dream I’ve had since I was a little girl.”
The title track from her debut album, “Every Little Thing” was released as a single in February and has spent 35 weeks on the chart. The album peaked at No. 4 but this week sits at No. 43 after four weeks.
In August, Pearce told iHeartRadio.ca about the first time she heard the song on the radio. She was in Orlando and heard herself introducing the track.
“I was like, ‘Is that me?’ And I turned it up and it was on and I freaked out.
“I’ll never forget it.”
