Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed she once kissed a total stranger in a bar and was rewarded with a date!
The singer was asked by Elite Daily to share the most spontaneous thing she ever did.
“I one time kissed a stranger without actually really talking to him first,” Jepsen recalled. “I was at a bar. It was St. Patty's Day. Everything was green, I was with my girlfriends, and I was doing that thing where you kind of play eyes at someone across the room.
“[My friend] wanted to go and I was like, I feel like I didn't even get a chance to talk to him. So I went over really quickly and was just like, ‘Hey, I know this must seem weird, but I have to go now so I'm just going to kiss you and leave.' So I did.”
Jepsen said the random kiss paid off.
“I was playing a show [in Vancouver] and I put up all these posters around my neighbourhood and he saw the posters and recognized me and came to the show,” she said. “So we ended up having a little date.”
Jepsen also said it’s too early to talk about her next album.
“I have so many different songs,” she said. “I haven’t sort of picked what songs are making the album.” (In a tweet back in May, Jepsen said she wrote “something like 50 tunes” for her next album.)
The B.C. native said she doesn’t know when it will come out.
“I’m really looking forward to getting it out there soon,” she explained. “Right now, it’s just about being a weird little experiment.”
The singer also shared her favourite music right now, naming “Paul” by Big Thief, “Baby” by Ariel Pink, and “Back Pocket” by Vulfpeck.
