Carrie Underwood donated $10,000 (all figures U.S.) to her childhood friend Justin Durrett after learning he was injured in a car accident.

Durrett, the assistant police chief in Checotah, Oklahoma, suffered a broken neck, bruised spine and other injuries in a rollover on Feb. 11.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help Durrett with medical expenses.

On Saturday, Underwood donated $10,000 under the name Carrie Fisher (the surname of her husband, Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher).

According to KOTV reporter Tess Maune, Underwood and Durrett “were childhood friends who grew up going to the same church.”
