Carrie Underwood this week became the first female artist to have four country albums top the Billboard 200 chart.
The singer’s Cry Pretty debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated Sept. 29, which will be published Tuesday.
It follows on the success of 2012’s Blown Away, 2009’s Play On and 2007’s Carnival Ride.

Underwood surpassed Taylor Swift, Faith Hill and Linda Ronstadt, with whom she had been tied with three No. 1 country albums each. Among all artists, Garth Brooks leads the way with nine albums at the top.
Cry Pretty also had the best sales week for a country album since 2015 and the biggest week for a female artist this year.
It should be noted that Underwood’s numbers got a boost from sales of concert ticket/album bundles.
