It’s good to be from Oklahoma.
Just ask Carrie Underwood, who has been announced among the new inductees to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
Being honoured by her home state is a humbling accolade for Underwood, who is married to Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher.
“I’ve always been proud to say I’m from Oklahoma,” the country superstar says. “The people, culture, and environment molded me into the person I am today. It’s such an honour to be recognized among such great company!”
Underwood isn’t the only country star who's proud to be an Okie. Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire and many more also hail from the state.
Kristin Chenoweth and Vince Gill, who are also Oklahoma natives, will emcee the induction ceremony on Nov. 16 at Gaylord-Pickens Museum in Oklahoma City.
