Casey Spooner of the now defunct duo Fischerspooner has accused Madonna of ripping him off with her Madame X track “God Control.”
“I co-wrote GOD CONTROL and I’ve gotten no credit and no compensation,” he fumed in an Instagram post. “I have played nice and been very patient but time is up!”
Spooner claimed Madonna and her producer Mirwais (aka Mirwais Ahmadzaï) “have f**ked me over” in a deal that would net him about $10,000.
“I should be getting paid a percentage of the live show. There is no money in record sales. Period. Not even for Madonna. I’ve seen the numbers,” he shared. “I think 1% of touring profits will cover my contribution and damages. I mean, it is the opening number in the show.
"And while you’re galavanting around on stage....I’m completely broke in Berlin. Robbed, ignored and delayed.”
Spooner later posted an audio clip of what he said was his demo for “God Control” as well as a screenshot of an email he sent to Mirwais in which he wrote: “I have to say I was a little surprised as I think some of my lyrical edits and melodic work made the cut.” Spooner said Mirwais did not respond.
Neither Madonna or Mirwais have commented publicly on Spooner’s accusations.
