Celine Dion returned home to Montreal on Sunday night to perform and accept an award on behalf of her late husband at the ADISQ Gala.
The celebration of Quebec’s vibrant music scene included a tribute to René Angélil, who died in January.
Walking out to a standing ovation, Dion remembered her beloved husband and manager as “one of the greatest visionaries of the Quebec music industry.”

She added: “He was also one of the biggest fans of musical artists that ever existed. He had an immense respect for people who had that passion. René always thought of others before he thought of himself."
Backstage, Dion called the tribute “touching” and said although Angélil was not there, “I'm sure he's here tonight. I don't think he missed any of this, and I'm sure he's very proud."
