Céline Dion walked off the stage of the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace for the last time on Saturday night.
“It’s tough,” she said, in a video clip from Sony Music Canada. “There was so much emotion in the room and on the stage.”
The Canadian singer ended her Las Vegas residency, after 1,141 shows over 16 years, with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Dion’s show A New Day ran from 2003 to 2007 and she returned in 2011 with Céline.
Dion will come home to her native Quebec for the summer (she will be in the UK to perform on July 5 in London's Hyde Park) before embarking on a world tour that kicks off Sept. 18 with three shows in Quebec City and five in Montreal.
At Saturday’s Vegas finale, Dion's sons René-Charles, 18, and 8-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson brought out flowers after she paid tribute to her late husband René Angélil, who died in 2016 at 73.
The singer also debuted "Flying On My Own," a song that appears on her forthcoming album Courage, out Nov. 19.
“I must have misunderstood something,” Dion told the audience on her final night in Vegas. “I thought I was going to be here for three months or something like this, and here we are 16 years later.
“I’m both proud and humbled … this entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career, one that I will cherish forever.”
