The Grammys will pay tribute to legendary band The Bee Gees, with a star-studded performance called “Stayin’ Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of The Bee Gees.”
The Recording Academy has tapped a who’s who of A-list musicians: Céline Dion, Little Big Town, DNCE, Keith Urban, Nick Jonas, Pentatonix, Andra Day and John Legend, among others, have been given the honour of performing some of the band’s greatist hits.
Bee Gees co-founder Barry Gibbs will join them on stage for the event. It’s being put on in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the band’s soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever.
“The Bee Gees—Barry, Robin, and Maurice—were international musical icons who helped make Saturday Night Fever an emblem of 1970s pop culture,” Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow said in a statement. “With expert harmonies, undeniable groove, and a personal charisma matching their on-stage persona, the iconic band of brothers defined not just a genre, but a generation. I'm looking forward to celebrating one of the most famous soundtracks ever produced and reliving Saturday Night Fever, once again.”
Although the tribute won’t be aired during The Grammys Feb. 12, the television special is expected to air later this year.
