Céline Dion announced Wednesday that the North American leg of her upcoming world tour will start and end in her native Canada.
The singer will kick off the Courage World Tour – named for her forthcoming album – with shows at Videotron Centre in Quebec City on Sept. 18 and 20 and at Montreal’s Bell Centre on Sept. 26 and 27.
Dion will perform at Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre on Oct. 16 and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Dec. 9.
She will return to Canada next April to wrap things up with shows at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on April 17, Edmonton’s Rogers Place on April 21, Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre on April 25 and Winnipeg’s Bell MTS Place on April 27.
In all, Dion is stopping in 53 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Tickets for Quebec City, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto go on sale April 12.
“So many people came to see us, and now I think it's time we go see them," she said during a Facebook Live session, noting that her long-running residency in Las Vegas is ending in June.
Courage, due out later this year, will be Dion’s first collection of new songs since her French-language album Encore un soir in 2016 and her first English-language album since 2013’s Loved Me Back To Life.
Dion explained the title was inspired by the death of her husband René Angélil in 2016.
“When I lost René, before he went to his other life, he wanted me back on stage,” she said. “He wanted me to make sure I was still practicing my passion, and I wanted to prove to him that I'm fine, we're fine, we're going to be OK. I've got this.”
Dion recently addressed concerns about her weight loss. "It’s true that I’m a little thinner," she told ABC News. "Everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong.
"I have discovered a new passion – dancing."
