Chantal Kreviazuk announced Friday she is celebrating her first Christmas album with shows in five provinces.
“The world could use the Christmas spirit all year long,” Kreviazuk said, in a release. “The kindness, gentleness and thoughtfulness that goes with the season is so healthy. The world could benefit from living by the values that radiate during Christmas.”
Christmas Is A Way Of Life, My Dear, out Nov. 15, is a collection of five original songs and five classics like “Silent Night” and “Winter Wonderland.”
Kreviazuk duets with husband Raine Maida on “Blue Christmas” (“We both grew up in households that listened to a lot of Elvis,” she said) and pairs with their son Sal for a cover of Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmas Time.” The 11-year-old also sings on original “The Christmas Train.”
Kreviazuk will kick off her holiday tour in Edmonton on Nov. 23 and stop in 10 more cities before Dec. 19 – including a show in her native Winnipeg on Dec. 8. (See the full list below.)
