What does one do with ten thousand pairs of underwear following a video shoot? Donate them to charity, of course!
Today (August 2) saw the release of a brand new remix of Charli XCX's song "Guess" featuring Billie Eilish, which features the two of them surrounded by thousands and thousands of "bras and knickers" in the music video.
The "Guess" video ends with credits that state "All unworn undergarments will be donated to survivors of domestic violence through I Support The Girls."
The US-based charity helps collect essential items like bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products to distribute to women experiencing domestic violence, homelessness and hardship across the world.
On X, the charity posted, "Wear ’em, post ‘em, go donate ‘em🫦🩲 (And that’s exactly what happened. 10,000 pairs from @charli_xcx is being donated to ISTG💚). We're so lucky to be getting the formidable panty mountain," in reference to the gigantic pile of undergarments the two stars stand atop of in the video.
I Support The Girls founder Dana Marlowe told BBC Newsbeat, "Charli XCX and Billie are both top of their game and they're showing women empowering women/ They're on top of bra mountain and they're on top of their industry and they're not forgetting that there are charities that can do something with the excess props in a music video."
"It really becomes an incredible cyclical effect of women supporting women supporting women which is absolutely part of Brat summer," she added.
