Rapper Lil Reese is in critical condition in a Chicago hospital after being shot Monday afternoon.
According to local media reports, Lil Reese (whose real name is Tavares Taylor) suffered a gun shot wound to his neck while in a vehicle in the Country Club Hills suburb.
Witnesses told police a white or grey Chevy Malibu with Wisconsin plates pursued Taylor’s vehicle and there were at least 12 gunshots. At an intersection, the driver of the Malibu got out and shot Taylor with what witnesses described as a small rifle.
The 26-year-old released his debut mixtape in 2012 and was featured on Chief Keef’s single “I Don’t Like.” Only days ago, he debuted a video for "Get Back Mood Pt 2.”
Taylor pleaded guilty to burglary charges in 2010 and was arrested in 2013 for battery and later for marijuana possession.
