Canadian country duo High Valley came up empty Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.
The Alberta brothers lost New Vocal Group or Duo of the Year to Midland.
The night’s big winners were Chris Stapleton, who went in with eight nominations and left with Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year, and Miranda Lambert, who won Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Jason Aldean was named Entertainer of the Year.

Aldean, Lambert, Luke Bryan, Maren Morris and Thomas Rhett paid tribute to the victims of last year’s Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting.
One of the highlights of the ACM Awards show, which was host by Reba McEntire, was Carrie Underwood’s performance of her new single “Cry Pretty.” It marked the singer’s first time on stage since suffering injuries last November, reportedly in a fall.
Underwood received a standing ovation and, when she returned to the stage to accept the Vocal Event of the Year award with Keith Urban (for “The Fighter”), she admitted: “I’m still shaking right now.”
