The country music community is mourning the death of one of their own.
Singer Kylie Rae Harris was one of two people killed in a three-vehicle accident in New Mexico. She was 30.
“Everyone that knew Kylie knew how much she loved her family and, beyond that, how much she loved music,” said publicist Sarah Frost, in a statement. “The best tribute to her unmatched enthusiasm for both is to spread as much love as you can today, and listen to music that fully inspires you.”
Harris was scheduled to perform Thursday at the Big Barn Dance Music Festival in Taos. In her final social media post, she said she was running low on fuel. “Dear baby Jesus please don’t let me get stranded in NM,” she tweeted.
Harris released a self-titled EP earlier this year.
A 16-year-old girl driving one of the other vehicles was killed but the third driver escaped injury. Investigators said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
