A self-described “huge George Michael fan” and his wife have forked out $32.4 million to buy the late pop star’s former home in North London.
Stephen Cameron and Clare Harrison, co-directors of a medical communications firm, will move into the mansion with their three children.
“It's a beautiful property, stunning and I'm looking forward to living there,” Cameron told The Daily Mail last week. “I’m also a huge George Michael fan so that makes it even better.”
According to a source cited by Homes & Property, the couple paid “significantly more” than the asking price. One local realtor estimated the property to be worth around $20.4 million.
Last year, the mansion was being rented out for a reported $25,000 a week.
The three-storey house, built in 1688 and rebuilt in 1933, boasts seven bedrooms and a backyard pool. Previously owned by singer Annie Lennox, the house was purchased by Michael for a reported $13 million in 2002.
Michael died on Christmas Day 2016 at his home in Oxfordshire, which sold last year for a reported $5.8 million.
