Canadian country star Dallas Smith and wife Kristen welcomed their second child on Saturday.
The 42-year-old singer shared the happy news on social media that daughter Everyn Owen Smith weighed in at 7lbs 11oz and “momma is doing so great.”
On her Instagram, Kristen said of Everyn: “She is perfect, we are so lucky!”
In May, Smith wrote in an Instagram post: “There’s one thing I know to be very true in a very uncertain time. I love being a dad.”
He and Kristen, who were married in 2012, already have six-year-old daughter Vayda. Smith also has a teenaged son from a previous relationship.
In 2016, Smith told iHeartRadio.ca that being a dad has affected his song choices.
“When you have kids your life changes for the better in a lot of ways and I wanted my music to reflect that,” he explained. “I want them — when they decide to look at my catalogue and sort of dive deeper into what dad did when they were kids — I want them to be proud of what I did and not think that I was unhappy while they were in my life. Because I’m not.
“These are honestly the best years of my life with my two kids and I want my music to reflect that.”
