Dan Reynolds has seen the reactions to Imagine Dragons having the past decade’s three biggest rock songs.
The singer tweeted this week that he “got on twitter to find all the slander and all the love. thank you for the love and yea I’d probably be mad if it wasn’t my band but it is my band hahahahahahbaba.”
Reynolds added: “thank you so much. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have spent the last decade writing this music and sharing it w you. it all comes from a real place and it always will. the world can debate what genre it belongs in. that’s not my concern.”

According to Billboard, "Believer," "Thunder" and "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons were the three biggest rock songs of the 2010s. Twenty One Pilots also has three songs in the Top 10 and Panic! At The Disco, The Lumineers, Walk the Moon and Portugal. The Man have one each.
Debate is raging on social media, where many people seemingly mistook the sales-based chart for some kind of subjective list compiled by Billboard.
“When I saw Imagine Dragons in the top spots, I already knew. Billboard, get your life,” read one tweet.
Many people took issue with the Billboard definition of rock. “Just because a song has percussion doesn’t mean it’s rock,” opined one.
Songs by Lorde, Passenger, fun., Vance Joy and Capital Cities show up on the rock chart.
According to Dictionary.com, rock 'n' roll is "a style of popular music that derives in part from blues and folk music and is marked by a heavily accented beat and a simple, repetitive phrase structure."
