The David Bowie biopic Stardust will open the 30th edition of the Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival next month.
The film, starring Johnny Flynn as Bowie, chronicles the bisexual singer’s first visit to the U.S. in 1971, where he was inspired to create his now-iconic alter ego Ziggy Stardust.
Jenna Malone plays the singer’s then-wife Angie Bowie and Marc Maron portrays Bowie’s American publicist Ron Oberman.
Inside Out will screen Stardust at the Ontario Place Drive-In at 8 p.m. on Oct. 1. Tickets are now on sale for $40 per car with up to two people (plus $10 for each additional person).
It will be a full-circle moment for director Gabriel Range’s film – was shot last summer in Toronto and co-produced by the city's Wilding Pictures.
