Canadian composer-producer David Foster, who turns 71 in three weeks, is going to be a new dad for the sixth time.
The B.C. native’s wife, 36-year-old singer-actress Katharine McPhee, is pregnant with their first baby, according to People.
Foster has five daughters ranging in age from 34 to 50 from three different women, including ex-wives B.J. Cook and Rebecca Dyer.
There has been no public announcement from Foster or McPhee.
The two were married in June 2019. Foster was previously married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson and Yolanda Hadid. McPhee was married for five years to Nick Cokas.
Foster and McPhee met in 2006 when he mentored contestants on Season 5 of American Idol. She lost to Taylor Hicks but Foster produced her debut single, a cover of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” (Fun fact: McPhee is now the aunt of American Idol Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken’s son Parker because Foster is the child's maternal uncle.)
McPhee has released five albums and has had roles in film, television and in the stage musical Waitress. Her series Scorpion was cancelled in 2018 after four seasons.
