Demi Lovato apologized Sunday after she admitted to hiring a prostitute to sexually assault her bodyguard Max Lea.
A fan on Twitter had asked the singer to share the funniest prank she ever pulled.
In a response she has since deleted, Lovato replied: “I hired a lady of the night in Vegas and sent her to Max’s hotel room to surprise him. She walked into his room without permission and grabbed him in his ‘area’ and he freaked the f**k out hahahahaha.”
After being slammed for appearing to make light of sexual assault, Lovato tweeted: “For all of those coming at me rn, listen to the lyrics of Warrior and maybe you’ll have more compassion for someone who made a simple mistake. Of all people I know about sexual abuse. You don’t have to educate me.”
In “Warrior,” Lovato sings: “There’s a part of me I can’t get back / A little girl grew up too fast / All it took was once / I’ll never be the same.”
The pop star’s followed up her tweet with another in which she said: “So sorry if anyone was offended.”

Lea also weighed in. “Really! You guys all need to ‘Grow Up’! It was a joke and a fun prank from someone whose incredible to work for and with. And does everything she can for her fans, family and friends.”
Lovato was evidently not surprised by the reaction to her tweet about the prank.
“I could tweet something about craving jelly beans and it would offend someone,” she wrote.
