Demi Lovato was reportedly rushed to an L.A. hospital Tuesday after suffering a drug overdose.
According to TMZ, the 25-year-old singer was found unconscious inside her Hollywood Hills home and administered Narcan, a brand of naloxone used in cases of opiod overdoses. The website said it was possibly a heroin overdose.
The New York Post reported that the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed it responded to a call at 11:22 a.m. local time and that a 25-year-old woman was transported to a nearby hospital. People quoted a source close to the singer as saying she is in stable condition and that she was not using heroin.
Earlier in the day, Lovato – or someone representing her – tweeted that an episode of Beat Shazam in which she appears is scheduled to air Tuesday night.
On social media, Lovato is getting plenty of love and support, including from stars like singers Ariana Grande, Kesha, Bebe Rexha, Kehlani and Adam Lambert. Canada's Shawn Mendes tweeted: "Demi Lovato, I know you’re a strong woman. I love you and I hope you get better."
Riverdale star Lili Reinhart tweeted: "Praying for @ddlovato and her health. When I was 14, she was an idol to me in how she spoke so openly about mental health. And now she continues to inspire thousands of young men and women with her body positivity messages. Addiction and mental illness doesn’t discriminate."
Ellen DeGeneres tweeted: "I love @DDLovato so much. It breaks my heart that she is going through this. She is a light in this world, and I am sending my love to her and her family."
Country star Brad Paisley shared: "My friend @ddlovato is one of the kindest, most talented people I’ve ever met. Praying for her right now, addiction is a terrifying disease. There is no one more honest or brave than this woman."
Lovato has been open about her struggles with substance abuse and was reportedly sober for six years. Last month, though, she released “Sober,” in which she admitted to relapsing.
“Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sang. “To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober.”
Lovato also apologizes to her fans. “I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.
“I’m sorry that I’m here again / I promise I’ll get help / It wasn’t my intention / I’m sorry to myself.”
On Twitter, she referred to the song as “My truth.”
In a documentary released last October, Lovato admitted she was using drugs, including cocaine and Xanax, while promoting sober living in 2012.
Last week, Lovato was spotted walking into Warwick nightclub in Los Angeles while holding hands with rapper G-Eazy, who pleaded guilty in May to a drug possession charge in Sweden.
Lovato was scheduled to headline a benefit for Kids Help Phone at Toronto’s Echo Beach on July 29.
On July 21 she tweeted: "Recording my new album and I just hit a note so high I peed a little."
