Demi Lovato Tweets Thanks To Justin Trudeau

Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau got some social media love from a pop superstar on the same day his Rolling Stone cover was unveiled.

Demi Lovato tweeted a photo on Wednesday of herself with Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, taken earlier this month at the Global Citizen Festival in Hamburg, Germany.

“Had the chance to meet PM @JustinTrudeau a couple weeks ago in Germany,” she tweeted. “Thank you for your commitments to mental health!!”

Lovato, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2011, has been outspoken about her mental health.

“The more you talk about mental illness, the less of a taboo it becomes,” Lovato told American Way. “As a pop star, I can say, ‘Hey, I’ve got bipolar disorder — it’s nothing that anyone can be ashamed of.’ ”
