Former boy band singer and Glee star Kevin McHale is being congratulated on social media after he appeared to publicly come out on Monday.
The 29-year-old, who was part of the short-lived group NLT and later played Artie Abrams on Glee, posted a photo on Instagram of his hand on another hand captioned only with the emoji for “I love you” in American Sign Language (ASL).
The other hand is believed to belong to Austin McKenzie, who starred in Spring Awakening on Broadway. The 24-year-old has a degree in ASL.
On Tuesday, McHale posted a photo showing him and another male relaxing at a resort in Brazil.
“I am just happy that Kevin has someone who loves,” tweeted one fan. “So no matter who is in this picture I am so happy.”
Another tweeted: “Congratulations, Kevin. From what I can see, thats a male hand, and idk if you are gay or bi or whatever, but I’m so happy that you found someone. We all love you and support you no matter what!”
On Instagram, a fan commented: “I love you and support you. I’m happy you found someone that makes you happy.”

Speculation that the two men are in a relationship has gone on for months. McHale’s Instagram includes many photos of he and McKenzie together, and McKenzie alone. Last August, McHale referred to McKenzie in a post as “my main b**ch.”
Both McHale and McKenzie had roles in the Vancouver-shot miniseries When We Rise.
There has been no confirmation from McHale or McKenzie.
