Disturbed has debuted its latest cover song – a unique take on Sting’s classic “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You.”
“We have loved this song for a long time, and even though it was released in 1993, it seems strangely applicable to today’s world,” reads a statement from the band explained.
“The song is about losing faith, and might initially sound pessimistic, but it’s about the importance and power of personal relationships, and how they can save you and provide solace in an increasingly confusing world.”
“If I Ever Lose My Faith in You” was the lead single from Sting’s fourth solo album, Ten Summoner's Tales. The song was No. 1 in Canada for three weeks and earned Sting a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Disturbed has previously given some edge to “Shout” by Tears for Fears, “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel and “Land of Confusion” by Genesis.
