Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines has filed for divorce from actor Adrian Pasdar after 17 years of marriage.

The 42-year-old country star cited irreconcilable differences in her petition, which seeks joint custody of the couple’s sons Jackson, 16, and Beckett, almost 13.

A rep for Maines declined to comment, calling the divorce “a private family matter.”

Maines and Pasdar, who met at the wedding of Dixie Chicks’ Emily Robinson in 1999, were married in June 2000 at a chapel in Las Vegas following a Dixie Chicks concert.

Pasdar, 52, currently stars on Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
