DJ Tiësto tied the knot Saturday with Annika Backes, a model he met four years ago in a New York restaurant, in a ceremony in the Utah desert.
The 50-year-old music star, whose real name is Tijs Verwest, shared photos from the wedding on his Instagram on Monday. “Love of my life,” he captioned the images.
The pair got engaged during a vacation in the Maldives last November.
Their nuptials, in front of 80 friends and family members, took place at the Amangiri resort. The groom wore a Tom Ford tux and the 21-year-old bride was in a Berta gown.
“I felt overwhelmed with emotions because we have been in love for so long and thinking about this day forever, and then it was finally here,” Tiësto told Vogue.
“It was more beautiful and more special than I could have ever imagined. To see everyone I love there and then to see the love of your life walking down the aisle, it is the best feeling in the world.”
Celebrity event planner Colin Cowie designed the wedding, which included a lavish reception and fireworks. DJ Coleman played “A Million Years,” a track Tiësto wrote for Backes.
