Dolly Parton will be honoured at next year's Grammy Awards as the MusiCares Person of the Year, according to a report.
Page Six cited sources as saying the 72-year-old icon will be the first country music star to receive the title, which has previously gone to artists like Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin and Billy Joel.
Parton, who grew up poor in the Tennessee mountains, is well known as a philanthropist. Her charitable work includes the Dollywood Foundation and its literacy program Imagination Library. She has also raised funds for the American Red Cross, several HIV/AIDS charities, and a cancer care centre.
Parton also raised millions for the victims of the 2016 wildfires in the Great Smoky Mountains.
A spokesperson for the Recording Academy did not confirm the report and said a final decision on next year's recipient has not been made. Parton's reps did not respond to inquiries from Page Six.
