Dolly Parton announced Tuesday that her next album will be her first for children.
I Believe In You is a collection of 14 tracks, including a new version of her classic “Coat of Many Colors.”
The 71-year-old country music legend said in a statement that proceeds from the album will go to her Imagination Library, which provides books to children around the world.
“It’s been 20 years since the Imagination Library was launched,” Parton said in a statement. “We’ve seen 100 million books get into the hands of children and hopefully there will be many more.”
I Believe In You will be released digitally on Sept. 29 and as a CD on Oct. 13.
“My first album was released 50 years ago and it’s been an amazing 50 years since then,” said Parton. “I am very excited that now I’m coming out with my first children’s album in all of those 50 years.”
