Donald Trump has drawn the ire of Swifties after falsely claiming an endorsement from Taylor Swift through a series of AI-generated posts shared to his Truth Social account over the weekend.
On Sunday (August 18), Trump reposted an AI image of Swift dressed up as Uncle Sam that recreates the famous 1917 poster used to recruit soldiers for the World War with the text “TAYLOR WANTS YOU TO VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP.” Trump himself wrote "I accept!" in his post.
Another post Trump shared included a collage of AI-generated photos of women wearing “Swifties for Trump” T-shirts at rallies supporting his bid for re-election.
One post marked as satire, included a headline reading "Swifties Turning To Trump After ISIS Foiled Taylor Swift Concert," referencing the recent incident in which three concerts were cancelled in in Vienna, Austria after a terrorist plot was foiled by authorities.
Swift has yet to officially endorse a candidate in the 2024 election, however, she has criticized Trump in the past for his comments on Black Lives Matter and dismantling the USPS. In 2020 she tweeted, "We will vote you out in November. @realdonaldtrump" in 2020.
While Swift has not responded to Trump, her Swifties have, reacting quickly to the false endorsement and calling on the superstar to file a lawsuit.

Lol, Trump posted a collage of AI generated Taylor Swift fans wearing ‘Swifities for Trump’ T-shits, and wrote “I accept!” as if this were real.
