Only a fool believed the Doobie Brothers would not have to scrap their summer tour due to COVID-19.
“This decision has been made with the health and safety of the Doobie Brothers’ fans, crew and local employees in mind,” read a statement from the band on Tuesday.
The tour, which was set to reunite Michael McDonald with founding members Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons as well as longtime guitarist John McFee, included two Canadian stops – July 18 in London, Ont. and July 19 in Toronto.
Those shows have been rescheduled to Aug. 26, 2021 and Aug. 27, 2021 respectively.
“Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the new dates,” the statement read. “If you can no longer attend or would prefer a refund, you will receive an email directly allowing you to request one.”
