Canadian rapper Drake has publicly accused a California country club of racial profiling.
The Toronto superstar posted the logo of The Madison Club on Instagram with the caption: “The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling.”
The country club is located near the site of the Coachella music festival, where Drake appeared Saturday as a special guest of Future.
The post was later deleted and Drake didn’t offer any details about what happened while he was there. The club posted a comment promising to rectify the situation.
The rapper has nearly 36 million Instagram followers but his scathing review of the club isn’t likely to have much of a negative impact. As one Instagram user noted: “Most of Drake’s fans cannot afford to even step foot there.”
