Drake’s latest work More Life will not be earning him another Grammy, as the rapper reportedly did not submit the album for consideration at the 2018 awards ceremony.
More Life debuted at No. 1 on the albums chart when it was released in March, and has sold over two million copies. As of now, Drake has won three Grammy awards from 27 nominations.
The nominations will be officially announced on Nov. 28, however the Toronto-native will only be considered for nominations for songs he is featured in with another artist.
Many rap artists, including Drake, have reportedly felt that the Grammy awards have yet to provide a proper category for their genre, as they always have to compete rock, country and pop artists for Best Record or Best Song of the year.
Unfortunately no further comments have been made – from Drake’s team or the Academy – to provide more details.
The 60th Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on Jan. 28 from Madison Square Garden in New York City.
