Drake and PartyNextDoor have announced they will be releasing a new collaborative album called $ome $exy $ongs 4 U for Valentine's Day.
While there aren't a lot of details to go by at the moment, other than its February 14 release date, the two artists have been hinting at the collaboration since last summer.
Back in August, Drake made a surprise appearance at PartyNextDoor’s Party and Friends show in Toronto, teasing the album would be available in the near future.
“I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be right there for you,” Drake said to the crowd. I guess he was waiting for that Polar Vortex to hit.
Since that appearance, Drake has repeatedly discussed the album, most recently telling online host Adin Ross during a livestream on December 27 that $ome $exy $ongs 4 U is gonna be special.
“Me and Party is, honestly, one of the projects I’m most proud of in my life,” he said. “I’ve always to wanted make a full album of our sound, Toronto sound, R&B. The best that both of us have to offer… The listening party has to be in the city.”
Hopefully the album helps Drake get back on his feet after a tough 2024, in which he overwhelmingly lost a highly publicized rap battle to Kendrick Lamar, who not only won five Grammy Awards last night for his Drake diss track, "Not Like Us," but who will also be the musical guest for Sunday's upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.
