“We are all so proud of you.”
Those are the words Drake DM’ed to tennis champ Bianca Andreescu, who beat Serena Williams last weekend at the U.S. Open and became the first Canadian to win a grand slam singles title.
"Yeah, that was cool,” the 19-year-old pro said at a press conference Wednesday in Toronto. “I don’t even know what to reply to that.”
Andreescu had been telling anyone who will listen that she wanted to hear from the rap superstar. His message read: “Here I am :) Congrats. We are all so proud of you. I’ve been liking every post with you in it lol I thought you’d see.”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, Andreescu was asked who she hadn't yet received words of congratulations from. “Drizzy. Champagne Papi," she replied. "I’m waiting for you."
Andreescu flew home to T.O. from New York City on a private jet provided by Uninterrupted, an “athlete empowerment brand” that partnered with Drake to launch in Canada earlier this year.
One of her IG story shows two bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne, a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries and a bouquet of flowers onboard the jet. The tennis champ thanked Uninterrupted and its chief content officer in Canada, Ontario actor-producer Vinay Virmani, “for the sick ride home.”
