Canada is well represented at this year’s American Music Awards.
Drake, The Weeknd, Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes are among the nominees announced Thursday for this year's AMAs, along with songs featuring Justin Bieber.
Drake is vying for Pop/Rock Male Artist against Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran and is the only Canadian nominated for Artist of the Year. He's up against Mars, Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar and The Chainsmokers.
The Toronto rapper also has a nom for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year.
Drake and fellow Canadian The Weeknd are up against Mars in the Favorite Pop/Rock Album category – for More Life and Starboy respectively.

The Weeknd's "Starboy" ft. Daft Punk got a nod for Collaboration of the Year. Also in the category is Canada's Justin Bieber, who is featured on nominated tracks "Despacito" and "I'm the One."
The Weeknd is also up for Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, Favorite Soul/R&B Album and Soul/R&B Song.
Cara is up against Lady Gaga and Rihanna in the Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist category and
Cara was nominated last year as New Artist of the Year but lost to Zayn. Drake has won four AMAs from 21 previous nominations, including Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist.
Mendes has a single nomination – for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, where he competes with Mars and Sheeran.
The 45th annual American Music Awards will be handed out Nov. 19 in Los Angeles.
