Drake has this week tied Madonna as the artist with the most top 10 hits ever on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Canadian rap star’s Dark Lane Demo track “Pain 1993” ft. Playboi Carti debuted at No. 7 on the U.S. singles chart, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, bring Drake’s total to 38.
Madonna has held the record since November 2002, when her James Bond theme song “Die Another Day” became her 35th top 10 hit and broke The Beatles’ record.
Drake got his first top 10 hit in 2009 with “Best I Ever Had.”
It is worth noting that 13 of Drake’s top 10 hits have been with him as a featured artist, whereas all of Madonna’s top 10 hits were solo works. She still beats him for No. 1 singles – Madonna has earned 12; Drake has had seven. (The Beatles hold the record with 20.)
